As a freelancer, who works on different contracts at multiple times- I often find myself dotted around London ‘the freelancer schlep’. I can find myself in pretty random places- dependent on the client and I’ve always wanted to find a space that keeps me central to everyone and everything.

Co-working spaces are seemingly everywhere in London but long gone are the days that I would actively seek to spend my day in a WeWork…

Assuming WiFi of course, is a given, the standard things I expect are:

● Free Coffee Machine
● Good air ventilation
● Space
● Quiet
● Community

I know these might seem pretty obvious, but having been to my share of co-working spaces- I know which ones people join ‘to be seen’ at and I know which ones are reaching max capacity.
If you’re rushing to get a table in the morning, then it begs the question as to why you’re forking out £200+ each month, when you may as well just hedge your bets at the British Library- because it’s free!

However if you would like to leisurely saunter into work, then it’s probably worth considering your options, which brings me to Work.Life Fitzrovia just off Foley Street and surrounded by great food spots and bars!

When you first walk in, you’re greeted by one of the very friendly Work.Life team members who are sat within the open plan kitchen space. The team will be able to help you with anything work.life related to ensure you are the most comfortable that you can be whilst in their work space.

One of the things I liked straight off the bat was that there was a lot of light and that there were high ceilings. Once past the open plan kitchen (with ample coffee and natural fruit laced water) you were in a ‘workers haven’ to really get sh*t done. I chose a booth downstairs (which I didn’t need to spill blood to get), plugged in my music and just zoned out. The only time I left the booth was to make coffee or to use their seriously comfy phone booths.

What they offer for those seeking to both work and live better….

Work Better

Being a freelancer can get pretty lonely, which is why spaces like this tick so many boxes because they really want the people that you happen to work in the same building as, to feel like the people you could be working in the same office as.

Live Better

Their rates can work with a real mixture of people and their professions. Whether you want to

Flexi: pay as you go hot desking at £6 on peak hours and £5 for off peak
Local: have unlimited hot desking £350 a month – perfect for small teams or freelancers
Resident: bring in a private office at £655 per desk – ideal for startups and bigger businesses

Be aware that this does not include VAT but if you’re looking for a place that will really enhance your long term well-being whilst driving up your work productivity- then you’ve really hit the jackpot.

If you need a central base we think this might be a game changer for you.
